We believe when individuals have access to accurate information and access to contraception, they are better equipped to make decisions that are right for them.
A Step Ahead Chattanooga offers a variety of free educational workshops for social service providers, clinic partners, community partners, parents, guardians, grandparents, youth and adults.
Our workshops provide factual information about preventative birth control methods, healthy relationships, and overall reproductive wellbeing.
We offer training and education courses for service and healthcare providers including the PATH framework and an ASAC toolkit. Our courses equip trainees with conversation starters and resources to help further the goal of client autonomy when it comes to making informed decisions about their reproductive health.
Our free video hub covers a range of subjects, from having open conversations with youth to understanding the menstrual cycle, contraception methods, setting personal boundaries, and much more.
Our parent and guardian workshops provides individuals with knowledge for having tough conversations about changing bodies, healthy relationships, and reproductive health with the youth in their care.
Our adult workshops provide factual information that will increase knowledge about anatomy, STIs, body care, birth control methods, and making informed decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health.
Through comprehensive sex education, we aim to empower youth with the knowledge and ability to make healthy choices about their bodies, health, and relationships.
ASAC was awarded a grant from the State of Tennessee called The Plan Ahead Project in October 2020. This grant has allowed us to expand our education offerings throughout all of our Tennessee counties. We have made some amazing progress and look forward to continuing our work in these areas.
