Workshops for Adults

At ASAC, we recognize the importance of lived experiences and aim to help individuals use them to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

Our goal is to provide medically accurate information so individuals can better understand how the body works and reduce any stigmas or negative thoughts associated with it.

OUR WORKSHOPS COVER:
  • Reproductive Health Overview
    • Provides an overview of anatomy, the menstrual cycle, STIs, and birth control methods.
  • Why to Have “The Talk” With Your Kids
    • Designed for parents and caregivers, this session reviews the importance of comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) for youth, dispels some common misconceptions about CSE, and provides tips to get talking with the youth in your care.
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections
    • Reviews differences in types of STIs and provides general information about STIs, their prevention, and their treatment. 
  • Healthy Relationships
    • Helps individuals identify healthy and unhealthy behaviors, recognize red flags and green flags, discusses multiple types of abuse and the cycle of abuse as well as how to healthily resolve conflict with partners. 
  • The Menstrual Cycle
    • Covers the phases of the menstrual cycle, what a regular cycle could mean, what to talk to your doctor about, and how pregnancy causes changes to the menstrual cycle.

  • Faith and Family Planning: How Comprehensive Sex Ed Fits in Faith-Based Communities
