Susan Thul
UTC School of Nursing

    Susan, DNP, APN, CNM, is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at UTC’s School of Nursing and a retired U.S. Navy Nurse. Susan’s clinical areas of expertise include women’s health and vulnerable populations, with an interest in caring for at-risk populations.

    Prior to her work at UTC, Susan served as the Director of Perinatal Outreach for the Medical University of South Carolina, where she developed a care delivery model spanning three counties and providing perinatal care supporting approximately 500 deliveries annually. She has practiced clinically in settings serving uninsured and underinsured women.

    Susan is a member of the American Nurses Association, The American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM), The Tennessee Nurses’ Association, and the TN affiliate for the ACNM. She is a Board member of the Tennessee Nurses Association PAC. 

    Susan lives in Ooltewah with her husband, Jeff. She is the mother of two and the grandmother of two.
