Nahomi Ortiz currently works at Chattanooga State Community College as their Director of Talent Management where she is responsible for recruiting, managing, developing, and retaining the College’s workforce. She previously work for Unum for 8 years where she spent most of her career in the Talent Acquisition department. She has always been a champion of diversity and will continue to utilize her skills and passion as she works to manage Chattanooga State’s talent professionals. 

Nahomi obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. During her collegiate years, she learned the importance of giving back to her community. She has continued to be involved with various organizations including UnitedWay Emerging Leaders where she served on the board, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and La Paz. She was nominated for the Latino Leadership Award in 2013 and recently graduated from Leadership Chattanooga.

Nahomi was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and moved to the USA at the age of two. She has spent most of her life in Chattanooga and considers it home. She has never lost touch with her Latino roots. She enjoys spending time with her family and eating food.
