MJ LevineCommunity Volunteer

    MJ, a native of Dallas, Texas, worked there as a computer programmer until 1969 when she married Howard Levine and moved to Chattanooga. MJ earned a BA in Mathematics from Wellesley College. She then earned a second BA, in Chemistry, from UTC. 

    After becoming a parent, MJ substitute taught and tutored for several years. She has served on numerous boards including the Chattanooga Area Brain Injury Association, the Chattanooga Symphony Guild, Junior League of Chattanooga, Fortwood Center Board, Chattanooga Boys Choir, Mizpah Congregation (President) and as Regional Admissions Officer and Class Officer for Wellesley College. She chaired the Hunter Museum’s Spectrum event in its early years. MJ was named a Chattanooga Woman of Distinction, and mentored a young woman through Big Brothers Big Sisters for eight years.

    MJ has two sons and a daughter who is deceased. She is a grandmother to four. Her hobbies are weaving, knitting, and golf. She is a Life Master at Bridge.
