Michelle received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education from Eastern Michigan University. She taught both elementary and middle school in the Hamilton County School District for more than 10 years.
As a teacher, Michelle mentored new teachers, provided literacy support, and led literacy workshops. Her work as an educator led her to a one-year position as Director of Educator Empowerment at UnifiEd, working with teachers to advocate for themselves and their students. Her passion for empowerment drew her to the Lead Educator position at A Step Ahead Chattanooga. Michelle loves educating women about this program that can change the trajectory of their lives.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her wife and two daughters. She also enjoys cooking vegan food, doing yoga, playing outside, paddle boarding, and hanging her hammock in new places.
