Volunteer Coordinator/Health Educator

Mandi brings over 18 years of experience in healthcare and education to her role as Regional Health Educator serving the areas of Bledsoe, Marion, and Sequatchie counties.  As a lifelong resident of the Sequatchie Valley, she is anxious to work toward the betterment of the lives of families in her community. 

She holds a multi-state Registered Nurse license, having earned an Associate’s in Applied Sciences in Nursing from Chattanooga State and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governor’s University. She also holds a Tennessee Professional Occupational Teacher license through additional coursework at Lincoln Memorial University. Before joining A Step Ahead Chattanooga, she worked for five and a half years as a Health Sciences Educator at Sequatchie County High School. As a teacher, she juggled the roles of classroom educator, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) instructor, Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) advisor, and Coordinated School Health contributor. Prior to teaching, Mandi served the women of the Chattanooga area for 13 years as a Registered Nurse in the Women’s and Infant Services Department at Erlanger Medical Center.

In her downtime, Mandi is an avid crafter who also enjoys camping and outdoor activities with her husband and children.
