Alissa has been with ASAC since June 2016 and loves serving behind the scenes to help the organization run more efficiently. After spending a year as a volunteer on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, she moved to Chattanooga and received her undergraduate degree in English from UTC in 2010. She has since had the opportunity to work with several Chattanooga area nonprofits.
In addition to working part-time at ASAC, Alissa is pursuing a master’s degree in information science to become a school librarian. She lives in Highland Park with her husband, who is a teacher, and their two children.
She is passionate about school equity, and enjoys reading, hanging out with her family, and volunteering at her children’s school.
