Lissa is a longtime Chattanooga resident who was born and raised in Marion County, TN.  She graduated from UTC with a degree in English Writing and a concentration in Psychology.  Lissa comes to A Step Ahead Chattanooga with over 15 years of local nonprofit experience, managing organizations that support communities and families throughout the Chattanooga area.

She has a love of children and teens especially, and a true passion for nonprofits and charities that help young people find their joy, confidence, and self-fulfillment.  She’s especially excited to now serve the communities where she was raised, helping to make sure all children and young women in our rural counties get the support that they need to reach their full potential.

A mother of two grown children, Lissa stays busy enjoying her new empty nest with her husband Mac. They enjoy travel, camping, hiking, and playing in local waterfalls.  Lissa also bakes and plays with art in her free time.
