Emily first got involved with A Step Ahead Chattanooga as a phone line volunteer in 2018 and became a board member in 2020. She’s enjoyed getting to connect with and support the important work that A Step Ahead does and is happy to be able to serve as board president for the organization.
A Rome, GA native, Emily and her husband moved to Chattanooga in 2015. She has a background in youth development and language education with a B.A. in Spanish from Elon University, and an M.Ed. from UTC. During her time in Chattanooga, Emily has taught Spanish, ran a Spanish-language immersion summer camp, and volunteered with a variety of community organizations. She’s currently taking a step back from her career to stay home with her toddler and baby who keep her wonderfully busy.
